WHY A.R.T.

The Core of A.R.T. starts with our knowledge-based training as we gain knowledge about the skills and consistently practice them to get results. The training industry is continuously growing so we are constantly educating ourselves and our athletes to stay up to date.

A.R.T. offers many programs including Performance Training, Rehabilitation, Fitness Training, and Skill Enhancement in both Basketball and Track and Field at a high level. Herman Robinson, the founder and owner of Athletes Ready to Train (A.R.T.), was born and raised in Charlestown, South Carolina. However, at the age of eight, he started his new journey in Pompano Beach, FL. Upon his move to Florida, Herman attended Highlands Christian Academy where his presence was made known the moment he stepped on campus in fifth grade. He was HCA’s starting point guard where he achieved various accolades such as the 1,000-point club, SACC All-Conference Team, Holiday Classic MVP, and Team MVP. But to Herman, these achievements are so small compared to what he really discovered during his time at Highlands Christian Academy. He found out that he had a passion for training as he led his fellow teammates in his workouts and eventually, he started training athletes at all different levels.

After countless hours of training athletes, Herman knew he had to put his passion into reality. This is how Athletes Ready to Train (A.R.T.) came into existence. When asked what A.R.T. is all about, Herman states, “A.R.T. is for athletes looking to better themselves in multiple areas of their respective sport. I [Herman] want to be able to provide opportunities for athletes by improving their explosiveness, strength, and endurance in order to make them a better all-around athlete.” Although Herman has a passion for basketball, he does not just train basketball players. He has made sure that A.R.T. is for all different types of athletes by creating custom-made training programs designed for each athlete specifically.

Herman is a recent graduate of Webber International University in Babson Park, FL where he studied Sports Business Management and Marketing, while playing on the men’s basketball team. Currently, he has taken over the duties of overseeing the JV boy’s basketball team and the Skill Develop at Calvary Christian Academy. At the same time, Herman will continue growing his business; Athletes Ready to Train. Herman is excited to be given the opportunity to implement his training methods and principles to help develop the young men and women at CCA both on and off the court.

Head Over T&F

Once a thrower, always a thrower…

I started throwing when I was 10 years old. I threw shot put and discus from middle and high school on the track team. I also played in other sports, such as basketball, volleyball, and softball to keep my body moving. I was also recognized in these sports as well. I was noted as a local, state, and national athlete. I received numerous awards and medals for participating in AAU summer track. I was field athlete of the year and team MVP in high school. I attended Charleston Southern on a Division 1 scholarship. I received the MVP and sportsmanship award in my time there. I was a 2-time champion and 3 time all conference in Shot and Discus. I have been working at Highlands Christian as assistant track coach from Elementary to Varsity for the past 11 years.

In 2018 I was the Head Coach of the Varsity track team. I was the assistant throws Coach at WA for 2019 to 2021.

I have consistently trained throwers from the Homeschooling community called the South Florida Heat for the past 8 years or more. During this time, I have had many athletes qualify for States in a middle school and high school level. Several of my athletes not only brought home medals, but received college athletic scholarships for track. I am currently the Assistant Throws Coach at Calvary in Ft. Lauderdale. While I was at Charleston Southern, I majored in Psychology and minored in Social ology. I am working as a corporate medical social worker for almost 20 years. I thoroughly enjoy my job of meeting new people and helping them to improve their quality of life. It is my belief that if I can help to encourage or change someone else life that my living is not in vain.
